How information is handled when you visit or contact DriveQuill.

About this notice

DriveQuill is an independently operated personal automotive publication at drivequill.com, focused on readers in India. Some topics may also interest readers elsewhere. In this notice, “we” refers to the individual who operates the publication under the DriveQuill name. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@drivequill.com.

When you contact us

When you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, handle follow-up questions and keep relevant correspondence. A contact link opens your email application; there is no contact submission form on the website.

Please send only information needed for your request. Avoid sending passwords, identity documents, payment details or information about children. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We seek permission before attributing or quoting non-public correspondence.

Website operation and security

DriveQuill uses Hostinger for website hosting and Wordfence for security. These services process IP addresses and technical activity data to operate and protect the site. Visitor IP addresses are sent to Wordfence for approximate location lookups, and information about attempted attacks, blocked access and failed logins is shared with its security network.

Emails sent to us, including contact details, message contents and attachments, are processed and stored in our Hostinger mailbox so we can respond. Hostinger also handles outgoing website email. Our email plugin does not keep full message-body logs, and email-open tracking is disabled. Delivery and error records help us investigate failed messages.

Cookie settings reopens your analytics choices. If JavaScript is unavailable, this integration cannot load analytics; this page remains available to explain the choices.

The current holding page uses the first-party session-storage entry wpEmojiSettingsSupports to remember the browser’s support for displaying emoji. The WordPress login page uses wordpress_test_cookie, a first-party session cookie that checks whether the browser accepts cookies. Session storage and session cookies normally last for the relevant browsing session. Signed-in administration can use additional authentication and preference cookies. You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect sign-in or other functions. Browser controls do not prevent the technical information needed to request a page from reaching its servers.

Optional analytics

DriveQuill is preparing for launch. Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Refusing keeps it off. Advertising personalisation is disabled.

When accepted, Google receives usage information such as page visits, browser and device information, and an analytics identifier. This setup also measures a limited source category such as a recognised search engine or social site, or an approved newsletter campaign. Other visits are recorded as unknown. This is incomplete source information and does not identify individual visitors. Connection information is also sent when your browser connects to Google. The configured page-view event sends only approved page paths and fixed page titles; other paths are grouped as “Other page”. It does not send form contents, account IDs, raw URL queries or referring URLs. Approved source labels are derived only after consent; raw attribution inputs are not stored by this integration.

We remember your choice in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days from your last explicit choice; visits do not extend that period. After acceptance, analytics cookies are scoped to this hostname with a 180-day lifetime that may restart as you use the site. Cookie renewal does not renew your consent. When consent has expired, a new page load keeps analytics off until you accept again and clears accessible analytics cookies. Open pages also check expiry on a timer and when resumed or focused; browsers may delay these checks while a page is suspended. Cookies may remain stored until a page can clear them or the browser expires them.

Use Cookie settings to withdraw. Withdrawal disables this integration, clears its accessible analytics cookies and reloads this page. Other open tabs on the same origin also stop and reload when the browser delivers the stored-choice change. Delivery may be delayed in suspended tabs or unavailable if browser storage is blocked; close those tabs if needed. Withdrawal cannot undo information already sent. Choices on other hostnames, browsers or separate browser sessions are independent.

Hosting and security services may separately process technical information needed to deliver and protect this site.

Service providers and other websites

If you accept optional analytics, Google provides the analytics service described above. Google and its service providers may process information outside India, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Our Google Analytics account records acceptance of the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. Applicable transfer arrangements depend on the information and jurisdictions involved; Google describes its arrangements in its international data transfer information.

Optional account sharing for Google products and services, modelling contributions and business insights, technical support, and business recommendations is disabled. This property has no Google Ads links.

Read the Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, and Google Ads Data Processing Terms.

Hostinger provides website hosting, our Hostinger Email mailbox and the SMTP service used for website-generated email. Wordfence, provided by Defiant, processes information for the security features described above. These providers and their service providers may process information outside India. The location of the website’s hosting server does not determine where all email, security, support or backup processing takes place.

You can read more in the Hostinger privacy policy, Hostinger data processing addendum and Wordfence privacy policy. These providers describe their own practices; this notice describes DriveQuill’s use of the website and contact facilities.

If you follow a link to another website, that website’s privacy practices apply to your visit. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.

How long information is kept

Browser storage and Google’s server-side retention are separate. Our Google Analytics property is currently configured to retain event data and user data for 2 months, with reset on new user activity disabled. Google states that retention-setting changes take effect after 24 hours. Google deletes data covered by these controls on its monthly deletion cycle after the relevant period expires. These settings do not apply to standard aggregated reports. Expiring or withdrawing your browser consent does not delete information already received by Google or set the retention period for all of Google’s records.

Retention depends on the type of information, its purpose and applicable legal requirements. We keep enquiry correspondence as needed to handle the enquiry and relevant follow-up. Records needed for a legal obligation, an active complaint or a dispute may be kept for that purpose.

The website’s email-logging plugin is configured to retain its records for one month. Wordfence’s local Live Traffic log is configured for security-related events, with a maximum of 2,000 entries and a 30-day cleanup setting. These settings apply to those local logs; they do not set the retention period for mailbox messages, other security records, providers’ systems or backups. Hosting, email and security providers retain relevant information under their service arrangements and applicable legal requirements. Removing a local record or losing access to it in a dashboard does not establish deletion of every provider or backup copy.

Your questions and requests

Email hello@drivequill.com to ask about your personal information, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We will consider your request in accordance with applicable law and may ask for proportionate information to verify it. Some information may need to be retained for legal or security reasons.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when the website’s data practices materially change and provide additional notices or choices where required.
